I just gave blood. You cannot not have taken aspirin in the last 48 hours to
donate platelets, so I will go back next week.

Thank you for keeping the information coming about PCC Jim. Our love and
prayers are with him. PDG Stuart and I are giving blood today, however, the
Joplin Community Blood of the Ozarks office does not have the machine to
separate platelets. I'm not
sure where these special machines are located, but you can check when you call
to make an app't.

Lion Jim would like the platelets going into a pool to help others too not just
him.
So hard to see day after day Doctors orders of 6 units of platelets changed to
2 due to the shortage . Then 2 units changed to zero. Today 2 units ordered
changed to 1/2 unit released. Today is day 10 in hospital.
Please if you can donate or get the word out to other people we need them to
donate platelets to live and with the shortage they aren't getting them as well
as Lion Jim.
Please keep him in your prayers as the bleeding they can't stop is in day 10.
Thank you Lions.

A CALL FOR ACTION!!!!!!
I have been FB messaging with PDG Sandy McCann concerning Lion PCC Jim's
health. We as Lions are also helping members in our communities when in need.
Well one of our own is in need and if we put out a statewide effort we could
help him as-well-as so
many more everywhere.
I was not aware there is a nationwide shortage of blood platelets. But there
appears to be. Many clubs sponsors bloodmobiles and many Lions donate blood on
there own regularly.
Let's start a statewide platelet drive!!! All blood type platelets are in
need. When you or someone donates say it is for platelets.
Lion Jim's is A+. In Jim's case the doctor orders 6 units and it gets cut to 1.
Today 2 were ordered and was given half of one. I asked about a directed
donation for Jim. It has to be doctor approved to who and how much since there
is the shortage.
The more platelets donated in Missouri the better chance of Jim receiving his
plus helping so many waiting.
Please spread the word wherever and whenever you can!! Lions can do it!!!
