on Red Cross (ARC) platelet donation:

The donor medical/health criteria for ARC platelet (and blood) donation are:

In addition to the ARC, there is also the Community Blood Center which I
have worked with and know to be reputable. They may have a donation closer
to you. One operates in the KC/St. Joe area:

and another in the Springfield/Joplin area:

I could not find medical criteria for the Community Blood Centers on-line.
I would expect them to be very similar - but not necessarily identical - to
those of the ARC.
