For anyone interested in boat boilers there will be an interesting item on
the IDSME stand at Sandown Park and Alexandra Palace

One of our members, Peter Reynolds, decided to build a steam engine for a
boat. The steam engine is the important bit but he had to build a boat
round it. The boat, a tug, is finished and the engine, oil fired, is well
underway.

Peter is one of those individuals who is not interested in building
something which people say works. Instead he likes to build engines of his
own design which everyone else says will not work.

The tug itself is magnificent. What is inside is fascinating. The engine
will not be finished but there will be enough to fascinate those interested
in engine design.

Hi To All,
I havn't been contributing very much on the list as it is on my home
computer, and i only go on ti every couple of days.
I see that there seems to be quite a lot of interest in to boat boilers
which i am interested in also casting/smelting another thing i would like to
get into again both alumiumn and cast iron.
I contacted the boat links that wilfried gave me the web site address for
and it gives me building advice for engines, boilers and hull designs.
I glad that the numbers of Alan's list are growing and that most people are
pro active, i must get the Emails forwarded to work so i can contribute.
yours John Burridge
