Hi Alan
when i work with stainless to guarantee absolute cleanliness I wash with
acetone the easy way to obtain this is in basic nail varnish remover (avoid the
ones with conditioner etc) you can also buy it from a chemist . Word of warning
though it is very flam able and vaporises very quickly this is also a very good
degreaser for non ferrous and ferrous metals.
