I just received the following,
If you are threading stainless steel nuts and bolts together make sure they
are scrupulously clean and coat with a little Milk of Magnesia. Same goes
for stainless sleeves onto stainless spindles, if you want to avoid pick-up
on fine tolerances then absolute cleanliness and Milk of Magnesia does the
trick.
