Fascinating! In fact, there is a lot of overlap between model engineering and radio, or rather, there used to be in days of valves, when chassis' were sheet metal work, and for VHF, assorted turned items were needed. Sadly, much of that technology is disappearing. On one of the other boards, there is a discussion based upon the premise that we (the older members) are the last generation who could re-start technology in the event of some major global catastrophe. Probably true. http://www.alanstepney.info Alan Stepney's Model Engineering, steam, and workshop pages. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Pagett" <john_pagett@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <modeleng@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, January 08, 2008 7:35 PM Subject: [modeleng] Link for anyone interested in valve technology At the risk of straying off topic, any of the radio amateurs on the list (or anyone that's interested in valves) might like to follow this link. http://dailymotion.alice.it/video/x3wrzo_fabrication-dune-lampe-triode_tech It's better than anything on the TV!
