Steve,
sorry for the long delay in finding the information I promised.

I too feel that it might be a Bonds 'o Euston Road design. They had several
in 2 1/2" gauge. In fact, the company is still trading, now from Rumbolds
Hill, Midhurst. However, when I last visited them, there was only a few
model items, and the majority of the shop is a general hardware store.
At that time, I didn't find anyone there who knew anything about models or
trains, so I don't know if contacting them would be helpful or not. However,
it would be worth a phone call just in case they can assist.

The Gauge 3 Society is perhaps your best bet. According to last years
Midlands ME Exhibition catalogue contact is :
c/o, Chantry House, Grange Business Park, Enderby Road, Whetstone, Leicester
LE 8 6EP.

Also, The National 2 1/2 Gauge Society can be contacted via Tel:01179 821
045

One other suggestion, which will also give you an interesting day out, is to
go to the Midlands ME Exhibition, and take some photos of the engine with
you. By the time you have shown them to a few people, it is likely that
someone will recognise it.
Even if they don't, you will have seen some superb models and had a pleasant
day out.

Subject: [modeleng] Help with 2.5" loco restoration

Hi All,

I am in the process of restoring my grandfathers 2.5" pacific class loco.
Right now I'm just trying to identify it and find out more about it. There
are some pictures at :

http://www.geocities.com/steves_workshop/gauge3loco.htm

Does anyone recognise this design ? I believe the plans came from Bonds o'
Euston road and it was built the 1930's but that's all I know. Speaking with
someone else in the group they suggested it might be the LBSC Fayette model.
Any input would be welcome.

Thanks
Steve.
