Hi Eric, Sounds like you have a solid roadbed! I plan to use 1.25" bar and have 75 in the groove in the tie, leaving the riding surface of the rail 5" above the surface of the tie. I guess I could go with 1" bar and only have .25" of the bar sticking up above the surface of the rail...
