Hi: Thought I'd share this with you. In the master mode of the motif es, I
have created a zone wherein the sounds of the motif are turned off. IN this
way, I can control a separate module. Here are the basic steps: (1) go into
master mode and hit f2 and you are in voice mode, arrow to the right once
and you are on zone switch, turn it on with the increase button; (2) hit the
edit key and use track buttons 1 through 4 to choose one of the four zones;
(3) you are on a screen where you can now set the midi channel for which you
want  the motif to transmit to an external device, use inc/dec to change it;
(4) down arrow once and use the increase/decrease button to turn the motif
internal sounds on or off; (5) down arrow once again and turn on the midi
transmit to external devices on. I haven't gotten into bank changes yet but
at least this is a starting point. You can then, obviously, store the
master. Hope this helps someone. John Fioravanti

it works on all of the motif keyboards though, that's a cool thing. I have
owned the classic, es, and now xs. I am sure it works on the xf as well.

don't think so, just tried it! tried to learn the insert effect screens

better to use the mix editor for that! yep!

you can also just hold down the master effect button for a couple of
seconds and that will also take you to the master effect screen as well!
once you're on that screen, you can tell which master effect you have on all
the voices in voice mode by pressing the increase button to turn on the
master effect, and press the decrease button to turn it off. If you're
trying to put it back on the delay master effect on all the voices, just
hold down the master effect button for a couple of seconds, press the
increase button to turn on the master effect so you can hear what it is when
you are pressing your keys, if it's not the delay effect, press the down
arrow button 1 time, this will place you on the list of different master
effects, then scroll your jog wheel knob all the way to the left while
pressing your keys, once your hear your keys start doing the delay echo
effect, that means you are on the original delay effect, which is the first
master effect on the list, after that just press your master effect button
again, this will turn off the master effect in voice mode, but this will
also store that delay effect back to all the voices to voice mode
automatically as well! you can tell by just going through the voices in
voice mode and pressing the master effect button and you'll hear the delay
effect on all the voices individually once again like it was by default.
Then just go back and save everything as an all file and you'll be fine
after that and just load up that all file and all your settngs will be
there! hope this helps! Driza out! Peqace!

Hi: I found in the reference guide that utility f3 sf2 will allow you to
set the master effect related parameters applied to all the voices. Does
that seem like where I need to be? Thanks.

You must have changed the default echo/delay to a compressor or whatever
it is you're hearing.
Chheck out the reference to see how to edit the master fx and set it back
to the delay or any other of your choosing.

Subject: [MoAccess] master effect button on motif es

Hi: I notice when in the voice mode on the piano patch, (with the motif
es) hitting the master effect button used to give me a repeat. Now, it does
not, and sounds like it's adding compression, although I can't be sure.
Since I've done extensive modifying of the motif, I don't want to initialize
the instrument and start over with all my modifications. When I do
initialize the instrument the master effect button works as it did with the
factory default, (repeats). As soon as I load my all file, the problem
arises again. Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I might have done to
lose the default master effect with the button? Any suggestions on fixing it
would be appreciated. Thanks. John

there are notes on that floating around. I am sure someone can attach
them, if no one does by later today, I will. I am headed out the door and
can't really dig them up right now.
