Do you really need that much more laptop though? I think for the vast majority
of people (and your list of use cases is probably in line with the vast
majority), the last few generations of CPUs has been just fine for what you’re
talking about. The only reason I have a brand spanking new MBP 16” is because
work paid for it and when I’m working I’m running a gajillion different things
plus maybe a VM or two, and even _then_ I don’t need all of this power - the
people actually doing the 4/8K video editing and stuff do, but I probably
don't. If I was spending my own money I’d be perfectly happy with a MacBook
Air for my personal needs.
So balance that against whatever headaches Windows brings. :)
