I was on a Zoom call with some folks last night. Both in LA and Begas where
people were very close to “the shit”. The guy in LA went up to his roof and
from there we could see two fires (he lives off of Melrose). The guy in Vegas
had security cam live stream from his apartment building’s front door showing
some close ups of crowds doing stupid things.
Meanwhile in the countryside of Central Oregon, nothing is happening except a
wild thunderstorm that kicked off a tornado a bit north of us. I think a power
surge killed my very expensive irrigation pump motor that I literally replaced
three weeks ago. I was hoping it would outlive me. Oh well.
Sounds of gunfire are just my neighbors practicing for deer season. Saw two
young bucks in my north pasture this evening when I went out to close up the
chickens for the night. I might start practicing too. I like venison.
