MISSBIRDERS,
Today my sister an I birded Hurricane Landing, Sardis Lake, for a few hours early this morning. It was  cool, no wind and pretty birdy. The usual couple of Ring-billed Gulls were present with a single Herring Gull and about 40 A White Pelicans came soaring in from the north. Warblers were also similar to the past. Lots of N Parula, Black-throated Green, Magnolia and A Redtarts were feeding way out at the point in the coffee bean weed and cedar elm. There was a single young male Rose-breasted Grosbeak feeding on some berries. It was void of Gnatcatchers and vireos! We heard and saw a FOS Ruby-crowned Kinglet foraging in a Cypress. One Red-breasted Nuthatch called in a distant tree.
Back home there was also a young Rose-breasted Grosbeak at my feeder (photo attached). Migration is picking up and hopefully the north wind is gone for a while.
