Tim, I had the Zoom F6 once and I didn't like it. I ended up giving it away.
the Zoom F6 is accessible, but not in such a way like Olympus recorders which
have talking menus. It is possible to access the menu, but you best work with
existing notes from others and yourself. The Zoom F6 app for iPHone had no real
value to me and was, at least 3 years ago, not the possibility to configure the
menu of the recorder. The sound of this recorder is very bright, almost a bit
on the shrill side, in my opinion.
The recorder has a unique shape, higher than wide, which makes it possible that
it will move around or wobble, if you're not careful. And the hardware controls
are spaced very narrow. One nice thing about the recorder is his many powering
options from AA batteries, the famous sony camera battery packs to USB C.
And though not exactly the H6, but I had the Zoom H5 once as well. I never
understood this recorder. It seemed to me unreliable, I never was sure if it
would record or not. Guess it just wasn't my recorder either.
But this are just personal experiences. Perhaps it would be interesting to have
a look as well at the Zoom F8N Pro. It might be more accessible and more
comfortable to use.
Depending on your use case, the Sony PCM-D100 might be an option as well.
Don't bother with the MixPre recorders from Sound Devices. As far I know they
aren't accessible. I had one for testing and was very disappointed.
