Anyone with knowledge of the Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK in Australia willing
to share their phone number with me off list? I will be taking delivery of it
soon and would like to discuss setting it up to work with JAWS and Reaper etc.
Thanks
Joe

I've been using the Soundcraft 12 MTK for a couple of years now.
Very happy with it. I haven't used the mix out feature as much as I thought I
might. What I mean is, you can route tracks back to the mixer to use it's
effects and eq, then bounce down to a stereo mix. Instead I am just using it as
a way to get everything into the daw. I use the built in effects to add colour
and get in the ball park area, whilst tracking. These are not recorded. The
interface is post gain and pre everything else.
A couple more channels would be nice as I have the built in soundcard for jaws
and streaming music, taking up a couple of those. The 22 track version won't
fit on my desk though, ha.
It can of course serve as a front end to an already existing interface but then
you may as well just buy any decent analogue mixer.
Cheers.
Chris Turner.

Ross, you wrote I’d go soundcraft over Tascam any day. Why do you say that?
Curious.

Hi Jo,
When you say accessible, I presume you’re talking about digital mixers.
As analogue mixers have total access.
I use an alan and heath mixer to playback various sound sources in to my
speakers.
Is 12 channel. Nice sound. Mike prees are good, not that I need to use them.
I’d go soundcraft over Tascam any day.
Ross.

Subject: [freelists-midimag] Accessible mixing/multitrack recorders
Hi all,
I’ve heard that the Soundcraft Signature series of mixers are quite accessible
to blind users. I have one on order. On the otherhand, someone just offered me
a Tascam sd24. Does anyone have experience with the Tascam in terms of
accessibility? Can one use it to record independently of a sighted person?
Thanks
Joe
