You do get the pre FX chain if you want to, but you can also just turn
them all off to get the dry signal.

All up and running! I created a template for my Soundcraft 12 MTK so that tracks 1 through 6 use mono inputs 1 through 6, and tracks 7 and 8 use stereo inputs 7/8 and 9/10, and the master track outputs via ch11/12 i.e. with USB return on.

I was able to do a test run recording the mono tracks with a microphone and the stereo track with my TD17 EDrums successfully.

the first context menu (context menu only, which should be shift + f10 on your system I guess). You can configure the recording input for every track in that one.
Yes, if you're happy with what you have, you can save it as either track template or project template, just as you like it most.

Which context menu? The one on f10 for the track or the one on alt+ctrl+shift+f10 for the track?
Also, once set up with say 12 tracks created, can one save this config as a template?

Hi Joe,
you need to install the correct drivers for your Soundcraft. After doing so, you'll get multiple input devices when connected via USB. Those can be routed in pairs to the various tracks you have by selecting ASIO input as your driver and your Soundcraft as the input device, which will have 12 and 12 output devices, which represent the channels on your mixer. You can then select them as mono or stereo pairs for the various tracks you have via the context menu.

How do you set up the routing matrix in Reaper with a screen reader with the Soundcraft Signature mtk12 so that for example ch1 through 6 go to tracks 1 through 6, and then stereo inputs 7/8, 9/10 go to l/r of track 7 and l/r of track 8 in Reaper? I don’t find the routing matrix accessible unless I’m doing something wrong. The Osara context menu control+alt+shift+f10 doesn’t seem to give you access to hardware receives for a track.

I've been using the Soundcraft 12 MTK for a couple of years now.
Very happy with it. I haven't used the mix out feature as much as I thought I might. What I mean is, you can route tracks back to the mixer to use it's effects and eq, then bounce down to a stereo mix. Instead I am just using it as a way to get everything into the daw. I use the built in effects to add colour and get in the ball park area, whilst tracking. These are not recorded. The interface is post gain and pre everything else.
A couple more channels would be nice as I have the built in soundcard for jaws and streaming music, taking up a couple of those. The 22 track version won't fit on my desk though, ha.
It can of course serve as a front end to an already existing interface but then you may as well just buy any decent analogue mixer.

I use an alan and heath mixer to playback various sound sources in to my speakers.
Is 12 channel. Nice sound. Mike prees are good, not that I need to use them.

I’ve heard that the Soundcraft Signature series of mixers are quite accessible to blind users. I have one on order. On the otherhand, someone just offered me a Tascam sd24. Does anyone have experience with the Tascam in terms of accessibility? Can one use it to record independently of a sighted person?
