About the Exhibit: Features rare and unique texts from the Lloyd book
collection and original art from the Lloyd collection of the Vesalius Trust of
Art in the Service of Science. Art is in a variety of media and formats and
covers many medical firsts and innovations.
Exhibition support generously provided by the George Lynch Fund of the Vesalius
Trust.

About the Lecture: Dr. James Ramage, Regents Professor of History, Northern
Kentucky University, will speak on "Care of the Wounded at Shiloh and in
Ulysses S. Grant's Overland Campaign" (including information about the medical
advances brought by the war). This is the end of the Civil War 150th
commemorative cycle and a great opportunity to hear about a special aspect of
the war - namely how the wounded were care for after battle and how that
experience changed medicine.
Ramage is the author of several volumes on Civil War history and is a
recognized expert in the field.
