Jerry,
No problem there. I've never downloaded the NHS (or any other) app, because my
phone won't do that. I've also got virtually no mobile signal at home, but you
report the test result using your desktop/laptop computer and confirmation
comes back both to the computer as an email and to the phone as a text. As long
as you pass through a signal somewhere between home and the nursing home, the
text should be waiting for you by the time you arrive.
Incidentally, tonsils are no longer subject to incessant tickling. We use the
'two nostril system' which is now perfectly OK (assuming you haven't got some
really old boxes of tests).

Martin,
Many thanks for the suggestion.
I have being doing twice weekly LFTs at home since April; indeed my tonsils
have never been so tickled – come back Ken Dodd, the LFT swab is obviously a
tickling stick! However I have two obstacles to do as you suggest: I have yet
to download the NHS App and I have no mobile ‘phone signal at home.

Thanks Jerry,
You can sidestep the thirty-minute wait by having done an LFT at home. The NHS
will email you confirmation within minutes of the result coming through, and
even a basic phone like mine can deal with that - it also comes as a text.

The only recent visit I made to a care home required me to book a time and
date, by ‘phone, and, on arrival, undergo a Lateral Flow Test and wait outside
30 minutes for the test to show negative.
When I received by Booster vaccination I also collected a card indicating the
date administered and the batch number of the vaccine.

It took about a month for my booster to show up on my NHS app but it's there
now. Rob.
