Hi Everybody,
On response to the reminder of the time I have been associated with the group,
I am emerging from the background.
My thanks go to Luke Smith who told me of the group’s existence. I confess that
I have rarely been very active, and in recent years, as old age has crept up, I
have read many contributions and have been informed by them, but have felt that
my experience is so dasted that I can rarely contribute helpfully to current
issues raised.
I am now 87 years old. I wonder how many more of my generation are
participating. I the group, even aas onlookers.
I have been fortunate and, although I have some of the problems of old age, I
am still able to make myself available for the circuit plan. I make no comment
on brothers and sisters who feel differently, but for me, ordination is for
life, and I hope to continue taking services, and especially presiding at the
Eucharist us long as I am mentally and physically able to do so.
I did have a year out, but that was because our Superintendent decided that
supernumeraries should not be exposed to the risks of covid by taking services.
I rejoiced that that came to an end on Easter Sunday this year.
Many thanks to all participants and especially to Tony for his work.
Every blessing,
Alex

Moring, Luke – there should be a fanfare of some sort, as a lot of us are
heading for a 21st! Indeed, the egroup has just passed its 21st birthday –
Anne Richardson formed it and joined on Sept 26th, 2000, followed by Chris
Gardner on Sept 27th, Stephen Jackson (no longer a member) on Oct 2nd, Richard
Bainbridge on Oct 3rd, John Brady (no longer a member) on Oct 11th, Luke Smith
on Oct 23rd, and Alexander Conn on Oct 31st. There were 13 more joined in
November, 9 in December, and so it continued. I was one of the November
entrants, and became a moderator in 2005 – the membership lists are numbered
from the first one I did, in November 2005.
Landmark days!
Blessings,
Tony
