Hi Friends, Here is a notice about an upcoming PBS NOVA program on the migration of the monarch butterfly. Check out the link and watch the two minute preview. Watch out, you might get hooked! http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/butterflies/ Peace, Nancy -----Original Message----- From: Ina Warren [mailto:wildwood3@xxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, December 29, 2008 12:56 PM To: dplex-l@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [DPLEX-L:35507] Yes! Yes! Yes! Finally! Monarch enthusiasts, The long awaited US showing of "The Incredible Journey of the Butterflies" will be aired on Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at 8 pm on PBS. !!! Lots of info at their site at: http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/butterflies/ There's a two-minute online segment featuring our butterfly research buddies/heroes Drs Chip, Lincoln and Bill. Also included are an online interview with film maker, Nick de Pencier, a listing of monarch links and books and even a service to get an email reminder of its airing date. Please post this announcement to your local community (after checking your local PBS airing time) to school teachers, nature groups, scouts, church bulletins, local newspapers, etc. Also for those missing it, PBS shop will offer the DVD for sale after airing, and it will eventually be viewable online for a period. Consider getting folks together on Tuesday Jan. 27 and having community viewings at nature centers, places of worship and work, individual homes to watch together. Have discussions afterwards to promote Monarch Waystations. Give out free milkweed seeds and waystation brochures. With so many folks having flat screen televisions and surround sound, this can be like a mini-imax experience. And I thought Tues. Jan 20 would be the only highlight of the month...!!! How else can we generate interest in monarchs and milkweeds during the month of January? Post your ideas here! Blessings everywhere. The impact of the individual. Ina.
