Any "special time" associated with
an exercise should be counted toward the three hour minimum. If restricted to net time, very few people would
meet the three hours, even using the MARS "41 or more minutes = one
hour" rule.
Preparation should include all
special activities such as deployment, call-up, preparing O-Plan
messages. Recovery should include
returning to base, if deployed, and preparation of the AAR.
An official opinion from HQ or the
Tiger Team is needed. Has anyone
asked our regional training officer for his opinion/position?

[mdmars_staff] Exercise Participation
Tony and I had this conversation about how many hours of the exercise
were required to get credit for it.
I have receive a couple of inquiries so I'll ask the group here.
My understanding is that you needed to be in the exercise for 3 hours
to get credit for 1 exercise. Since the one yesterday was just 3 hours
you had to be there for the entire event to get the credit.
Is this correct?
