I didn't use mobile speak, I had talks for my phone.
However, All I had to do to install talks on my phone was to upload the talks executable file to the phone, and it ran automatically and installed itself.
I'd imagine that your mobile speak is similar.
The sync software is generally for keeping your address book on your pc the same as the address book on the phone, it's not actually necessary for making the phone talk.

I know there are other folks here who do use mobile speak, so perhaps they could advise exactly which files needed uploaded to make the phone work properly. I actually managed to loose my phone, and never replaced it, so couldn't try the demo of mobile speak even if I wanted to. However, I'm sure someone here will pipe up with assistance, folks here are a rather helpful bunch.
