Hi again Laura,

I don't know what your needs are for Office, but, let me suggest that you take a look at OpenOffice for the MAC, which is free and iWork from Apple, which is about $70.

OO has a word processer, a spreadsheet program, which work quite well and a few other things and will open and save in Office formats.

My Choice has been iWork. iWork has the word processer and spreadsheet functions as well and works more along the lines of Apple conventions and will handel office files. I think you can download a demo.

HTH.

Do you know if there are any plans to change that in Snow Leopard? it's not that big a deal, but combined with the lack of MS Office (not Apple's fault, I grant you), and the recent debate over the address book, it makes me a little unsure.

Sorry. I wasn't clear enough. Or at all, really.

In top sites there's a search button, and according to the apple site, it allows for a full history search. I can get it to read the first result, but nothing more, even when I know there should be. There's a horrizontal scroll bar beside that result, but using VO with that doesn't seem to get me anywhere. The Apple site does say that it presents the results in cover flow, and I'm not sure if that could be the problem?

I go to the menu bar, go to the history and arrow through it till I get to what I want. I don't see a search history.

Hi all

I've been lurking around here for a while, trying to learn as much as I can before buying a Mac of my own. Thanks for all the helpful hints you guys provide.

I was wondering how Voiceover works with the history in Safari? I've been playing around with a Mac for a few days now, and I struggled to get VO to read the search results in history. I'm sure this is just the result of my hopeless inexperience, but I'd rather check this kind of functionality is available before I switch to a Mac and give up Firefox.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Laura
