Both ways work well. All David was saying is that if you start the installer from the OS (when you insert the Leopard DVD, you get a list with the stuff that's inside, and one of the items is the installer which you can open as any other app) it will basically set the Mac to start up from the DVD once it makes it reboot, so there is no need to press the C key when you hear the chimes. Basically it won't make any difference to install it one way or the other.

Hi all, you guys were talking earlier about installing leopard, and I happened to ask a friend about this, and he said, to insert the cd, then shut down, and then hold down the c key after re-booting, and when the dvd drive stops whirring, to start up voice over, but somebody was saying, run the installer, but if the cd auto runs, how do you find the installer, or can you tab to it, or what? Thanks in advance for any assistance.
