[macvoiceover] a few questions

Hi all.
I have a few questions.
I am loving my mac, but am a bit confussed about a few things.
Firstly, when I go to the doc, there's a few apps, a dashboard (which just has
some network thing in it) , a documents folder and a asplications folder. I'm
not sure how this all works. Mail and the web browser in in there too. It seems
to be a bit like the windows desktop only different.
Can any clarify all this for me?
Also, I was wondering what audio editing software works with the mac. I have a
olympus dm 520, and I want to take my recording and edit them.
