and I'm glad we're not stuck with android for a free solution. We are at 10.6.4 Snow Leopard, but for those of you, like me, who were there in the beginning with Tiger, think of how far our access on the Mac has come in such a relatively short time. There were so many people who wrote off Apple's initial efforts as just a quick and dirty way to avoid lawsuits and predicted that there would not be any real development for the product. So many didn't take the Mac seriously, and we often heard the, "everyone uses Windows, so the Mac is a fad that will just go away." I really don't think that the VoiceOver team and accessibility people working for Apple receive enough credit at times for all the hard work and effort they have put into the VoiceOver development that has benefited us all. Now, well, consider where we stand today. Not only has VoiceOver evolved, expanded and improved on the Mac platform, but we have it on the iPhone and iPad and iPod Touch. How many people would have thought the blind would have access to a touch screen? To me, I just have to sit back and feel a sense of utter amazement and satisfaction every so often. And, yes, iBooks truly rocks. Also, for all the reports of the problems with safari 5, I have had few issues and I find the reader to be simply amazing. Thank you, Apple, for providing the continued and ever improving access to your products. Take Care John D.
