I just looked on New Egg, and the $100 monitors are 17 inch displays.  That's 
incredible value.

Don't forget used stuff on Craig's List. Even cheaper.

I don't know how small a monitor you can get, but our local Best Buys here in 
Anchorage have some small flat screens that are lightweight and start at around 
$100 and up.  Even though I don't have problems with mine running without, my 
wife plans to make the switch and she will need a monitor, preferably a flat 
screen.  And I just want to get one anyway because there are some things having 
to do with VoiceOver when making repairs often requires one.  On a sort of 
unrelated matter, I have the $20-dollar adapter and was wondering if I can get 
a  
cable and other accessories that will work to plug into a monitor?
