Two things come to mind.
First of all, osx is unix, there's an ftp server that ships with the os (though, configuring it may be a bit tricky) And, there's one I like very much, it's called ncftp, and can be downloaded at http://www.ncftpd.com There is a mac version, and for 1-3 simultaneous connections, it's free, more requires registration.
It sets relatively easily, and is very configurable.
I like the ncftp server, because it can work independently of the os, meaning you are not restricted by the number of users your os supports, but can have as many accounts as you like, and each one can be configured anyway you like as well. Of course, it's probably overkill for your purposes, but if ftp is what you want, there's probably no better program to do what you want. On the other hand, if sharing files is all you want, then simply activate web sharing in system preferences, then just drop the files you want to share in your sites folder, and direct the friend to your machine's ip address followed by the /~user_name folder to see your files. There's also ssh via terminal if you really want to go that far, but that's probably not necessary.

HI all.

Just wondering if anyone can please tell me if there are any shareware ftp server packages that work with voice over and that are easy to configure? I just want to set up an ftp server from time to time so I can share files with a friend. I'm open to suggestions so if there's other software that would work better sharing files between 2 macs that would be great. Even one of those sites where you can pay moneyh to have your files stored in the cloud would work. Anything like this that's mac compatible would be great.

Thanks for any suggestions on this.
