I'll check the emacs web site a bit more thoroughly, as I've heard nothing but good things about it buth from a Linux perspective, as well as from that of an OSX one.

This is something I too have wondered. I do have the most recent version of IWorks, but I'll admit I've not really dived into it very heavily.
