[macvoiceover] Dialogues blocking the screen

This is Something taht continuouslly frustrates my wife when I ask her to check
something on the screen for me. She'll tell me there's a dialogue blocking the
view, like a power status or the force quit dialogue that I haven't used for
days.
How can I access these dialogues with Voiceover to shut them down before I have
a sighted person look at the screen?
