Recent mac minis do not require it. As I recall, it was the model named the
2012 line that had the problem. I have the model line called late
2014 and I have nothing video wise attached. More recent models have no
problem.

telling him that there was no display connected. I think he solved the
issue by connecting just a display adapter into his mac mini.
So, my question is, should I purchase a display adapter along with a mac
mini or is this just an exotic behaviour of the past?
