if you use Apple mail, you will find an option in the preferences to delete messages after downloading.

you can set this to, immediately or for as many days as you like.

if you need any further information you can let me know.
Later.

Extremely annoying. Especially if I'm considering getting my IPhone, I just know those messages will be downloaded on there, taking up my space. There's messages on here now that downloaded from before I even had the computer, like years ago. For example, there are messages from the mac list here from when I wasn't even subscribed to the list. I was looking for a setting in "mail" to see if there was a way to stop these from being downloaded, but haven't found anything yet.

The last time I checked, VO doesn't allow you to check all messages although such a checkbox exists. But you can check all that are displayed on the page. The most messages you can have displayed is 100 I think. I would get a pair of eyeballs or, clear your calendar. lol. I know, how annoying right?

Wow. There's like 16,000.
Is there any way to select an entire page from the google account instead of having to select one at a time? Voice over doesn't read the check box, if there is.
Thanks, Ricardo,

Hi,

It sounds like you use google. If so, google doesn't get rid of any of your e-mails. You would actually need to erase them from the gmail site from out the all mail folder then erase those from the trash.

Hi Listies,
Can anyone tell me why I have messages in my gmail folder "All mail" from years ago? Is there any way to change settings or something that old emails aren't redownloaded after deletion? Or can that folder be deleted all together?
Thanks, Nicole>
