Thanks a lot for your reply. Oddly enough at the moment all seems to work
without a problem in mail, everything is read and not just parts of a mail’s
properties. And I disabled the classic view, out of windows habits. I
originally had this enabled because I thought it would be a good idea. Now
disabled mail is still very well usable and perhaps this might have solved my
mail issue as well, who knows.
I’m still not sure about the braille display problem. But I’m optimistic that
this can be solved as well with time.

Hello Benjamin, can’t help with the Braille issue, but when I have similar
issues to what you describe it often has to do with what level I’m interacting
with. Try stopping interacting and see if that helps. There are also several
different ways of getting into your list of messages, VO J, which performs
slightly different functions depending on the app you’re in, hitting enter on a
message, using tab to jump back and forth etc.
I think about 90% of the issues I have with Mac and Voiceover come down to not
knowing what I’m currently interacting with.
Regarding the specifics of which view to be in, there is something called the
classic layout, you can switch to this in the preference menu. I received some
good advice from this list when I first joined the ac world, if you didn’t grow
up with the Mac Mail classic layout, it’s not really worth trying to figure
out. If you learn on the modern layout it works just fine with Voiceover.

keys created doubble or triple letters when I pressed them. I was told that
this is a known issue. So, my firstMBP was repaired under warranty. Then I did
apple renew and bought the older MBP 15 from 2015, the last one without USB
That’s what I have now for about three weeks. And I’m really happy. The
keyboard is so much better and the computer is even quieter, something I really
love.
Now finally, I’d like to ask you about apple mail. I really hope I do this
right so you can understand what my problems are:
1. Is there sort of a tutorial for setting the view of the inbox folder the
best way? When I configured mail a few days ago everything was wonderful. I
could hit cursor up and down and hear the name of people, the subject, date,
time and so on. But after I pressed VO+Arrow up to check other things this
isn’t working anymore, ro better said not in the way I was used to it. Now I
can press VO+Right arrow to move between cells like from, subject, date,
mailbox name . When I’m par example on subject and then press arrow up or down
I hear only all subjects of the mails. But I’d like to hear just everything :
Name, subject, date, time etc.
2. I’m not sure if this is related to mail, maybe it’s a braille thing. I’m
using a Baum SuperVario 40 on my MBP. When I write a longer mail the braille
display and probably the VO Cursor aren’tfollowing each other. Let me give you
an example: When i type a mistake and want to correct it by routing the cursor
to this particular wrong charakter with the braille routing keys the braille
display jumps suddenly to a totally different place in the mail. Then I have to
move manually with the arrow keys on my mac back to the mistake and correct it
this way.
Also, sometimes the braille display just displays something else on the screen
until I press a routing key. Then it snaps to where I am.
Does anybody of you know if this is just related to my particular braille
display or is there a setting in voiceover I should know so that these two
tings don’t happen?
