Well, excuse me. I wasn't aware that was... (belittled...) All I had to do...

I may not be the most smart, ok, but, dammit? I got the job done.

LOL!

all you needed to do was run permission repair.

John, I figured it out.

Here is what I wound up doing:

First of all, I went to Utilities then to the keychain manager.

I did a search for the word Airport. I basically deleted everything under there that had to do with Airport.

Next, I went to

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration

Under there is a file called com.apple.airport.preferences.plist

I deleted this file, then went to:

/Library/Preferences

I then found the file called com.apple.networkconfig.plist

I also deleted this file. Then, I rebooted.

Once rebooted, I went to the apple menu, and to system preferences. Under here, I went to network.

Then, I re-enabled the Airport Service.

Once this was done, I reconnected to my WIFI. I put my key in, and told it to remember in my keychain.

Once reconnected, I closed the lid of my system, forcing it to go to sleep. About 5 minutes later, I lifted the lid, and boom! I was immediately reconnected.

Problem solved! Yea!

I'd just start with a basic google search. You can go to the Apple website and do a search in the support search box, but I've always found it easiest to do a general Google search. The results for my question usually gives me responses from the Apple user forums.

When you say the Apple forums, where would I go to get to those forums?

It might be something worth doing a search on the Apple forums about. I wonder if it is a router issue. I'd be curious.

It's a Linksys WRT54GS with the most up to date firmware. I'm using a white mid 2010 stocked no customizations 13 inch macbook running OSX 10.7.3 with the latest update. This is actually Lion Server, but even before I installed server and just had regular Lion without the extra server sided extentions, I still had the issue, so that isn't what's crippling it.

I'm using WPA 2 A E S 11 for the incription type on my router.

What kind of router and what kind of system again are you using? There is no "logical" reason that this should be occurring, but it ould be any number of reasons just the same. I used to have a problem like that when I was using a Link Sys router years ago with both my Macs and my old Windows laptops.

John, I almost constantly update my system with all the newest updates. Perhaps in some cases that's not always a smart move, but, anyway… if you're referring to the supplemental OSX update that just came out, then yes. I definitely did pull it. I don't really know what all it fixes though. I didn't look. I know that before that update and even still, I'm having that problem.

Have you run all of the latest updates to the OS. There was just a maintenance update for 10.7.3 the other day. I thought I read somewhere that it fixed some wireless issues people had reported.

Hey guys. I'm having a kind of weird problem and really haven't thought much of it, but I'm kind a starting to wonder.

It seems like if I restart my macbook, or just shut it down entirely then reboot it later, I'm fine. However, if I close the lid to the system, causing the macbook to go to sleep, I'm finding that when I wake it back up, my wireless has been disconnected. If I double vo+M then go over to the airport menu item, it tells me no signal. I know for a fact it remembers my network in my keychain, as if I hit vo+space on it, it connects no problem, and doesn't make me retype in my security key. It seems like, though I could be wrong, this has only started since I ran the most recent update to the airport utility. I just was wonderring if any of you all've seen this, and if so, is there a work-around? It's not really a big deal, it's not like I can't easily enough reconnect. I just wonder why in the first place it's doing this. So here's the specs.

13 inch white stocked mid 2010 macbook with no customizations, and OSX lion 10.7.3 Server.

Thanks for any help.
