with reference to OS X Server, it is no longer an OS, it is a plugin
application that runs within OS X mountain lion. unlike the days of leopard,
snow leopard and tiger server where they were full OS configurations. so were
separate from a consumer OS.

now then, yes, your printer will work with OS X. you'd be best going to HP's
website, to the printer you've purchased and downloading the drivers for OS X
and the utilities they also supply for the printer, installing them and then
setting the printer up from there. we will walk you though these processes when
you are ready.

With reference to windows, depending on the version, the mac can run this in
bootcamp mode or in a 3rd party app we know as VMWare Fusion 5. it's a very
powerful System to allow various operating systems to run on a mac. anything
from windows XP to windows 7 / 8, linux, unix, etc if you're using it like I do
for technical work.

If you're going to be working for apple, please take this little note onboard.
you need to be 100% familiar with every mac and apple product as well as
services if you're going into sales, if it's more tech support based you need
to become proficient in OS and hardware work, etc

I qualified years back as an apple certified hardware technician and OS
specialist, so have been on sites dealing with all sorts of work. the mac has
always been my tool of choice and I wouldn't be without it. even from the good
old days in the 90's before intel macs were even thought of.

the macbook pro offers you a superdrive for CD's and DVD's which are still
used. I still use DVD media for installations, software coding, OS builds, etc.
there's built in ethernet, USB, thunderbolt (supercedes firewire but has
adaptors through apple available to do the job), speakers and mic built in,
backlit keyboard, multi gesture trackpad, etc. the list goes on.

the one difference to note is this.

between macbook pro and macbook air, storage media is handled differently:
Standard model macbook pros come fitted with a standard 5400rpm laptop hard
drive and can be upgraded to SSD (solid state flash) drives at extra cost.
(non retina models)

Macbook air systems already have SSD drives installed which offer faster boot
times, application run times and silent operation. plus more efficient use of
the battery.
