OK, perhaps one a you all can shed some light on this, as I'm totally at my witt's end. I must say, though I normally don't get this way, I'm! for once, perplexed! My friend clames he is having a really strange problem with his IPod touch 4th Gen 64GB. I had this happen once to me to, and god for the life of me! don't remember to save thw world! what I did to fix it. Apparently, he clames his voiceover sounds are gone. Yeah, he's on IOS 4.3.2. but does that matter really? When it happened to me, I think I was actually on 3.2, or such. It wasn't v 4, I know that. It wasn't even on my 4th gen I think that was back when I had a 3GS 32GB. He can hear speech just fine. It's not like he muted speech. If it was that easy, I'd a just had 'em do a 3 finger double tap. That won't work though with this. It's not his voice that isn't working, it's actually the physical navigational sounds in Voiceover that don't work. You know... if he had an IPhone, I'd tell him to check if the phone had somehow gotten the silencer switch set wrong. Or if it was an IPad, I'd had told him to see if mute was on either from the side switch or whatever. But again, those options hardware speaking aren't there being he has a Touch 4th Gen. I dono even the last thing he did before it happened. He doesn't recall either. I know the time it did it for me, I put my unit on a really el cheapo dock that really didn't work that great. For one thing, it didn't even support charging. I think it was some sort of a Sharper Image stereo with a dock built in. Ever sinse I got my IHome though, I've never once had that issue, and frankly when it did happen it was a royal fluke, and nothing I did fixed it. I don't even think hitting home+sleep did anything. even rapidly quintupplely pressing the sleep button to just refresh the springboard didn't work. His IPod's not jail broken, and never ever has even came close to being, even from a remote distance of fact. So yeah. We're both just pulling our hairout! over here trying to figure out what in the world on earth he did. I suppose I could have 'em restore it, and then once done restore from his last ITunes backup, but isn't that somewhat extreme? I think I had to do this to fix mine when it happened that one time, but come on! first me, now him. Surely! thus, this is sort of a kind of, ish, known issue. Any ideas. Man? I'm! out of options! I'm stmped and have absolutely no clue. this is totally wakkid! Very, very! bazaar! Chris.
