When I have music playing, the music app closed, and am focused on the status
bar, the name of the song is not listed, only the words playing music.
When the song changes, there is nothing verbal when the focus is on the words
playing music.
I wonder what is up with that.

It will do that when the focus is on it no matter what the cause. you can do
the same thing in other instances. get music going and focus on the title in

The only time the phone will repeat the time each time the minute changes is
when I've just checked the time and the focus remains there until I flick to
change it.

but unless I hit the power button again to truly lock it, it announces the time
