    That is a matter of choice.  If your router is working fine, don't fix what 
isn't broken, to be honest.

    The Extreme Base Station and the Time Capsule will handle any mixture of 
Apple and non-Apple devices.  I have had Windows machines, an Android phone and 
other items access the network without any trouble.  

    I believed the Airport Extreme Base Station is $179 and the Time Capsule is 
$399 and $499 for the 2 or 3 TB models respectively.
