Hi Keith,
I have the iPhone 8. It works perfectly fine. I got the larger capacity
model for myself, but that is up to you.
I also have an Apple Watch series 3 that includes the cellular connectivity.
You can also still get the Series 2, I believe, That doesn't have the cellular
connection, but it has GPS and is water proof.
