A propos of not much, here is a Jonathan Yardley review of a book called "BORN
LOSERS: A History of Failure in America"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A43081-2005Jan27.html

The author seems to argue that the definition of failure no longer includes the
catastrophic connotations (familiar to such as Macbeth and his lady, perhaps)
it once did and has become much wider, now embracing people & situations no-one
would have begun to think of as failures previously. Hm. If anyone actually
reads it, hope they give us a book report.

Regards, MN
