Do countries have sad days?
If so:
* America may brag about a new game it invented using a jack-in-the-box
and a gyroscope, squandering years trying to sell the patent;
* America may love to be x-rayed;
* America may grow inordinately attached to caterpillars, dolomites, or
samovars --- whether they belong to it or not -- and become enraged if
it perceives them to be mistreated;
* America may have one green and one blue eye and love to wear costume
jewelry;
* America may pour maple syrup on everything it eats.
On that sad day rejoicing at a sticky situation,
