REALITY SCHMEALITY

Splat! went the bug
flat as a rug
against the glass.
Less the world one little beastie who
never knew,
alas,
that glass could arrive at seventy-five
miles per hour,
reality can be
dour
enough to sour
one
or two or three
or maybe even six billion ,
dour enough to make one cower,
still
life goes on and souls
like Hopkin's sillion
oft times shine
when turned
upside down,
inside out,
redounding in
unexpected acts
of generosity --
like fireflies
spread out on a windshield
still lighting the night
with their love.
