Evans quotes Lovelock:

"Gaia cures its own diseases"

I would say _her_, having Gaia as one of the female goddesses or concepts
_par excellence_.

This must be an anthropological universal -- to consider Mother Earth as
feminine --.

Even the Indians in Latin American call her thus, "La Pacha Mama".

I always found that slightly _sexist_.

Bachofen has elaborated a whole philosophy on this male (solar) versus
female (chthonic, fertility-oriented) distinction.

Cheers,
