I have just learned that the Austrian conductor Nikolas Harnancourt
("particularly known for his historically informed performances of music from
the Classical era and earlier” - Wikipedia) passed away on March 5th.
In addition to perusing their own collections for relevant listening material,
list members may wish to join me in a memorial audition of a YouTube memorial,
featuring the opening Sinfonia from Bach’s Cantata "Ich steh' mit einem Fuss im
Grabe" (BWV 156), performed by Concentus Musicus and conducted by Harnoncourt:

P.S. We have lost a maestro who never stopped searching, thinking, and
learning. Here you can hear him admitting to a master class (at the age of 78)
finding “the program or idea of the [i.e., Beethoven’s 5th] symphony one week
ago”; and communicating that idea with great insight (“I think that beauty can
only be found on the edge of failing”) and humour (“a pause is a pause - I won
a prize for that!”; “stop!, stop! — that sounds like you have a glass of beer
before you and are telling about your youth”; etc.):
