It was with considerable empathy that I read your letter of the 15th, noting the shortage
of ingredients for crafting the many spicy rice, bean, and tortilla dishes you desired.
One can only hope that the new import tarrifs and restrictions do not make these items
prohibitively expensive for you. Similarly, I am troubled by the expense incurred by
assembling the ingredients for Dyresteg or even Fiskesalat med pepperrotsaus and Stekt
marinert makrell.
Then there is the climate, about which the less said the better.
Frankly I think there was more than a little alcohol involved in the decision by UN
Supreme Leader Geary to swap our two countries. In his world televised announcement, I
noted that, though he claimed the exchange was chosen on a purely random basis, there was
a darkly gleeful twinkle in his eye. But what are we to do? Join the hippie communes on
the moon? I think not.
In closing let me tell you how pleased I am at the thought of salsa, merengue and the
flamenco guitar music echoing throughout the fjords.

No mames, guey. Acabamos de llegar en este pinche pais de mierda y nos estamos cagando del
friazo que esta haciendo. Que chingaderas son estas, cabron? A nosotros nos dijeron que
Noruega era como Cancun, excepto que mas padre porque con menos turista. Que dizque no se
cuantos kilometros de playas padrisimas. Pues a mi que no me cuenten. Aca es el mero ojete
del mundo. Y la comida ! Tu crees que hay una cantinita por aca, aunque sea un puestecito
pa echarse algunos taquitos ? Pos no. que dizque se come muy padre en europa : pues yo te
dire que aqui se la pasan comiendo pescado podrido. Se emborrachan, eso si, pero no de lo
bueno. Salimos a bailar la otra noche y nos empezaron con algo que llaman la polka : hazte
cuenta una especie de danza funebre. La unica que la disfruto fue Lucinda : ya ves que es
de Veracruz, asi que le encanta el danzon.
Bueno, pa que te cuento mas. A mi se me hace que nos vieron la cara. Pero que le vas a
hacer? Espero que te esta gustando la casita : ya se que se te va a hacer chico, pero Uds
son nada mas dos, imaginate como era para nosostros que somos 17 en la familia. Un
consejito : no les des de comer a las cucarachas, que son bien bravas. Y no se les vaya a
