Wrong. The Soviet Union regarded itself as a socialist society,
not
a communist one, and did not, therefore, adhere strictly to
"from each according to his ability, to each according to his
needs",
but to "from each according to his ability, to each according to
his
work". (Precisely how one rewards people "according to their
work"
is of course a good question. )
