A friend who works downtown let me know:

"The New York Giants had a ticker tape parade up Broadway because they won the Super Bowl. Everyone in the office stopped working and went to the windows. They were throwing shredded documents over the street and hanging from the balconies on the 30th floor. They even provided food for us. It was a like a 2 hour party in the office."



One of the many excellent things about Manhattan is that this kind of stuff can happen, and you won't be aware of it unless someone tells you.

Informant: "A giant ogre in bronze armor destroyed the statue at Chatham Square, then moseyed along Canal Street singing "God Bless America" while throwing cars into jewelry shops, until he was finally subdued by a tactical assault squad using rocket launchers."
