Eric: "I condemn social systems that impede human energy, destroy incentive, damage the human spirit, and create opportunities for criminals to exploit them for personal gain."

Is it only the 'social' part of the system that counts here because you can say exactly the same for any for-profit enterprise. Over here you'll find many individuals that work in socialised projects and who put forth energy, are incredibly incentivised (but not by money), work to improve the human spirit and are certainly not criminals. Does the fact that they work in a socialised environment condemn them and the work they do.

And on balance do such systems do more harm than good?

Simon
