This is the extreme political opposite of the extreme position outlawing
abortion. It should be popularized as such. In which case, maintaining a
woman's right to abortion in the first trimester would be seen for what
it is -- a moderate position.
Instead, popular media offers the false opposition of abortion / no
abortion. It's a way of containing debate to an extreme position (no
abortion) and a moderate position (abortion in first trimester) by
excluding the other extreme position, mandatory abortion, from public
debate.
