What's worse: that so much of the industrial world is blighted with
stripmalls and trash, or that people lack imagination to create anything new
that is
different from stripmalls and trash?
Just before the old theaters on 42nd Street were bulldozed to make way for
Disney, some artist had the idea of using the theater marquees to post fuddling
haiku and inscrutable poetry. It should have remained that way.
