Wow.

I love "the anchovy of freedom"...and the last lines are to die for, or of.

What cats should know,
but don't,
apparently,
is that,
having claws which face only one way,
and an innate sense of show,
makes it easier to go
up
than down.

Those who frown on this,
and inform the fire brigade,
are fundamentally jealous,
are refusing the test,
the anchovy of freedom.

The hard core,
the militant ,
the apostrophic,
the possessed
just accept a little dander in their lives,
now and then.

Yes, we have made our beds
and yes
we let fellow travelers
into them.
But we know the cost.
We have met it.
And it is us.
